Baby D.A. has been making headlines lately thanks to his new album, Bright Lights, Dark Times.
The new project, which is released June 21 on Nonesuch Records, features guests including Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz, 2NE1, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, and Lil Uzi Vert.
Now, the New York Times has picked up on the new album’s title, noting that “Baby D. A. is not only a rapper but a painter, painter of the human form, the artist, the storyteller.”
While the interview doesn’t provide any further details about the song’s themes, it does include a snippet of the song in its headline, which notes that it’s “about a black man, a black boy, a man in his twenties, who’s in the process of making a new life for himself.”
